Karen’s Magic Review

Lurking behind this cover is a really good short story.  I was asked by a friend to read his book. I don’t normally accept books to review, but the fact it was a short story, and I liked the author, swayed me to download it.

Harry has a missing stepbrother, and in order to satisfy the conditions of his father’s will, George Baumann must find him. The story was well written and succinct, and I liked it for that. It got straight to the point without any fluffing about. The author told the tail well and I really enjoyed it, especially as what eventually happened was something I had been expecting. I like a story that takes me somewhere I don’t expect.

When I first saw the cover, I thought it was an audio book, as the dimensions were different from the normal size. I also thought the man on the right was a young Martin Clunes. I know what its supposed to represent, but it doesn’t do justice to a really good story.

When you have an hour to kill, then it’s perfect and what is even more perfect is how you can download it for free if you’re a member of kindle unlimited.

  1. I hope the audio version is coming soon. The photograph was taken on a visit to Germany in 1962. Neither is Martin Clunes! The two people in it have no connection with the fictional characters in the story – it’s just for illustration.

    1. Haha! I knew it wasn’t him really, and yes, I knew they were for illustration, it says so somewhere.
Be great to have an audio book, and reach a wider audience.
